Tori and executive producer Patrick A. Howell enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to vibe with a living legend and global icon from his home in Dakar, Senegal. He has been noted as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. He is known as the Ambassador of African music, the King of African Pop and in 2014, Rolling Stone magazine dubbed him ”perhaps the most famous singer alive” in Senegal and much of Africa. He is beloved by his people and has collaborated with other icons as Paul Simon, Sting and Bruce Springsteen. This Grammy Award-winning artist ran for President of his beloved Senegal in 2012, and was appointed as the Minister of Tourism. He embodies the meaning of the word, “Sankofa”. They talk about the inspiration behind his music, his heroes and friends Nelson Mandela and President Barack Obama, how love triumphs over racism, and so much more! Here’s to our beloved King of African World Music, Youssou N’Dour.
